Yogi Is The Man

The Yogi Berra Museum removed a Roger Clemens jersey out of a display honoring Yankee Championships due to concern over steroid allegations. You can see the conversation that let to the jersey being removed from the display here.

In solidarity with my Zen Master, I am ritually dropping this 2002 Fleer Tradition fake T205 subset card behind my dresser where it will remain until I clean up back there. We won't be seeing Roidy Roger for a loooooooooooooooooooong time.

"What, me Juicy?"

I am struggling with what to do with my Clemens collection. Part of me says get rid of it. Trade it for somebody who is not a cheat and a liar. I just don't know.

while never a real Clemens "fan", I always enjoyed watching him pitch. I just missed seeing Nolan Ryan in his prime, I figured this was the next best thing. Even though I'm a huge Braves fan, one of my favourite baseball cards was always 1991 Topps Clemens card. Him leaning against the Green monster with all the strikeout lamps lit... a beautiful card...

Hey Brian, that is one of my all time favorite cards too.

Its killing me that I can't stand proudly and proclaim I am a Clemens collector without any doubt about the steroids. I doubt I get rid of what I already have.

Clemens has never been a favorite of mine, but I understand how this must be killing diehard fans and collectors. I have the same feelings about my Michael Vick collection. I'm disgusted that his stupidity trainwrecked his career, his life and an entire franchise but the cards still remind me of the good times so they are hard to get rid of. Hey, at least I can pick them up cheap now if I wanted to...
