I pulled this card out of a pack of Philadelphia and now I'm gonna post it. The guy was in the Senate for 800 years and actually did a little bit of good while he was in there so take your Chappaquiddick jokes and blow 'em out yer arse. RIP, Lion dude.

He was a flawed human being and a great senator whose every political stance was moral and considered all races and classes, not just his own. The bunch of lobbyist-money-grubbing losers in the Senate now .... blecch.

Fitting right into my current Tarantino mood, you captured the perfect title. It's a shame that it had to be used at all. He was the last of a great political generation in the Kennedy family.
Andy: in my defense, I had only about five minutes to scan, upload and write the post before I had to rush off for work. That's all I could think of on short notice.
The comments on the thread where I learned the news were also full of haters which put me in a foul mood early in the morning.
Hey---it's your blog--you don't need to defend yourself. I just think that while there are plenty of appropriately negative things that could be said about Kennedy, his death, or the death of anyone who has worked so hard for this country (regardless of party affiliation) is not something to poke fun at.
I'm impressed by the card scan, though.
Quite frankly, I am very sad to see politics all tied up with card collecting. I think it was the first Topps American Pie that might have started it, but I don't like it at all. I look to baseball and football card collecting to escape, not to be reminded of the political/economic conflicts of this country. Neither Ted Kennedy, Barack Obama, George Bush or Sarah Palin belong in my pack of baseball or football cards.
I actually got the news of his death from this blog post. I hadn't even had a chance to check the news before I checked my blogroll this morning. Kind of funny that I'm getting my national headlines from card blogs, but anyway it's a cool card.
I agree leave the politics out of the cards please. Also you too Marvel comics!
