An Uncharacteristically Brief Blaster Break

The typical full gonzo 2009 Topps 206 blaster break will likely begin on Wednesday, mainly because I was a lazy slug yesterday. This is the grand opening of the Topps206 Fortnight here on Cardboard Junkie, so I feel obligated so show off a little something tobaccoish. Here's a quickie blaster rip recap to open up the festivities.

Ok, they're scanned...

Here's the only Brave in the bunch. I haven't decided if Jordan was just hampered by his injured wrist last year or is the next coming of Brad Komminsk/Mike Kelly/Wilson Betamit/Andy Marte.

This was the hit of the pack, a mini Zito #88/99.

White and bronze...

and big and little.

HAT.

Why exactly is Kazmir still in a Rays uniform? He's been an Angel for months. Please tell me he doesn't have a super short printed card in an Angels uni.

A little Rays overkill, but I just really like how this card turned out. I wouldn't mind seeing Carlos manning first for the Bravos.

Griffey was pretty much the best base card in the set. No base legends cards were in the box unfortunately.

Let's finish up with a couple of checklists. I have plans for the short prints, but that's another post...

That Carlos is nice.

I think this set was delayed quite a bit, just judging in the player selection and who is playing with who.

I wouldn't have been too surprised if Topps had put in a Matt LeBlanc card.

That Latos is nice. He's supposed to be the next big thing in the Pads organization. He better be if they felt comfortable letting Peavy go.

LeBlanc looks like Travis Pastrana on that card.
