Espana

Congrats to the 2010 World Cup Champs.

No Iniesta in the sticker album. Oops.

I'm sad that I will never hear a stadium full of vuvuzelas or people chanting EeeAMuMamaWaaay every single commercial break ever again. I really need to find a soccer team to root for now. I watched an MLS game this weekend and was not impressed. No team in Atlanta anyway. I need a team in a league that's good where I can actually watch a match every so often. Will someone please help me find a team?

If you're looking for a team, you can join me with Everton. I've been cheering them on for about 6-7 years now. There's no frontrunner fears with them, like if you would cheer for one of the big four (Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, L'pool), but you can pretty much count on them not to get relegated.

There's room for you. It's "The People's Club," after all. Plus, they are guaranteed to break your heart at least once a year, so it's pretty much like being a fan of most American teams (outside of the ones with the deepest pockets).

pick one in the English Premier League.

Chelsea is owned by a crazy Soviet Air Force Captain who got rich when teh Union fell and his Colonel "Disappeared" leaving the entire base in his possesion.

Man U is my team, but owned by american idiots. The Glazer family.

I could go on, but the research is half the fun.

I feel the same way. I am leaning toward the English Premier League, but it would also be fun to have a team in the Bundesliga or Serie A in Italy.

We can always use more West Ham United fans! :)

I'm not sure what people are looking for with the MLS. Sure, I freely admit that the overall level of play is not, on average, with the top leagues in a few European countries. However, it's not like MLS games is the same as watching some tweener rec league game in comparison, either.

After all, we saw a pretty wide disparity in skill between World Cup teams, and no shortage of bonehead plays and mistakes of all types. I'd like to see North Korea even try to keep up with the Columbus Crew.

I've routinely renewed a pair of season tickets in good seats for the San Jose Earthquakes since they returned in 2008. Much of the better soccer in the league these days is played west of the Mississippi (Galaxy, Sounders, Chivas, RSL, etc.), it seems.

I find it pretty easy (and affordable) to hang on to the most local team, and see their level of play improve.

The Earthquakes are playing a friendly against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday that I plan on attending. With all due respect, I don't need to change countries to enjoy skilled and dramatic soccer.

IF you're looking into the EPL Go with Everton or Fulham, either one boasts a starter from the US and could pick up another player or two now that the cup is done! MLS can be hard to watch at times but you have to remember we are babies compared to the EPL, Serie A and the Bundesliga!

I picked Tottenham a few months ago (seven, to be exact) to have a team to follow in the wee hours of the morning while I was up with my newborn son. I liked their logo, a rooster (or some similar animal) standing on top of a ball. Yes, please! I use them on FIFA '10, too.

What's funny is that I blogged about it and got a comment bashing me for picking a team in this manner.

Unfortunately, the only thing I learned was that Jermaine Defoe is pretty good. I don't understand all the crazy leagues they've got going on over there. I should've waited and gotten FIFA WORLD CUP for PS3 instead. Oh well. I'll care again in four years.
