I read the introduction (28 pages!) and that pre-chapter by itself is more interesting than a lot of other books I've read. If anyone wants a copy and can't find it at your local Dollar Tree let me know and I'll see if I can pick you up a copy. Or just go to Jim's website and get your own personalized copy.

Well, 30 pages in, some of the characters Jim and his partner Chip have to deal with seem like complete horses' asses so far... does that count?
Excellent book! It makes you wish Bouton wrote a lot more.
I want him to write that Huck-Finn type book about his childhood he mentioned in the introduction. I bet he could give Jean Shepard a run for his money on a childhood slice-of-life story.
