Got this stuff at a card show last year for approximately $2:
1953 Johnston's Cookies Dave Cole. One of those vintage sets I need to drop everything and complete already.
Big ol' crease in the middle but any '50's large size card for 50 cents is a good deal in my book.
I don't care what the little birdie told you, Ernie Johnson was a Brave For Life.
Pops! This was one of the last boxes unchecked on the 1974 Topps checklist. I can upgrade later if I want.
I buy new stuff too! Especially shiny Aaron inserts in the quarter box. I still don't understand why the border is blue though.
Kinda random post, but I have to keep reminding myself these things especially since Series 1 is about to drop on our heads.
I have no idea how to create pages but I'll figure it out eventually godammit

Hall of Fame - Macho Man Randy Savage
I don't really do wresting cards for the most part but what the heck...
SNAP INTO A SLIM JIM!!!!!!1
Randy "Macho Man" Savage (AKA Randy Mario Poffo) is being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame so he deserves to get in on the Hall of Fame posts this month. Problem is, I don't collect much in the way of wrestling cards so I'll show off all his cards from the 1987 WWF WrestleMania III set.
Got a box of this stuff back in '88 or '89 for seven bucks even though I didn't really watch a lot of wresting. Cheap wax is fun no matter the subject. The back of the card insinuates that Randy is a dirty fighter with a clingy girlfriend. This set does not treat Randy kindly.
First action card for Randy shows Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat lifting him up by his Adam's apple. I'm guessing Randy didn't have a fun WrestleMania III.
The choke out is revenge for an earlier injury. I'm more concerned with Randy's shorts. Was pink a normal color for wrestler's outfits back in the '80s? From the look of this set it seems so, there's pink everywhere.
in Randy's last appearance in the set, we get to see him fly out of the ring while Ricky yells PLATOOOOOOOOOOON. I am now sad I have neglected my wrestling collection because I want to show a card of Macho Man kicking some ass and I can't.
My wrestling knowledge is limited, but I think Macho Man was a heel at this time which explains why he's getting his butt kicked. I choose to remember Macho Man at his best.
No more cards of Randy in the set, but there is a card of Elizabeth staring at Randy so I'm putting it in the post because reasons.
Elizabeth watches intently. Hey, is anyone else watching intently?
While Elizabeth watches Randy, George "The Animal" Steele watches Elizabeth. This is maybe one of the greatest trading cards in the history of paper products.
Card number 69. Nice...
I like nice...
Anyone who's anyone in an Old School set gets to be on a sticker. Congrats on the induction Macho Man, up in the Big Ring in the Sky.

Hall of Fame - John Smoltz
Smoltzie gets four cards instead of three because I do what I want.
He's an announcer now, but Smoltz has always liked to talk.
Topps Tek is the new (old) hotness but for my money 1997 Skybox EX2000 is the best looking weird-ass high-end plastic stock set of the '90s.
I've been stuck in the '90s for this Hall of Fame series but 2007 Masterpieces is just so purdy. Have some Cooperstown-worthy laundry.
BONUS DIAMOND KINGS GOODNESS. Signed by the artist himself. This card courtesy of Captain Canuck at Waxaholic. Them Canadians have some amazing autograph hounding skills.

Hall of Fame - Pedro Martinez
More '90s weirdness inserts to celebrate people actually going into the Hall of Fame while they're alive and kickin'! Have some Pedro.
Had to show off the Dodger card where Pedro's clowning around. I think this card got tweeted about 100 times the day of the induction announcement. But how many of them were the Silver Signature parallel version eh? That card right behind it is a double so make me an offer I can't refuse.
DUFEX EXPOS GOODNESS. Man I hope Martinez goes in with an Expos cap. On a Dufex plaque.
Die-cut micro-foil etched plaques with '90s rainbow color scheme would also be acceptable. Ever heard of Skybox Circa Thunder before? Kinda want a case of it now, don't ya?
Up next! You Know Who!

I have probably 1000 doubles of Ginter from 2006-2013 if anyone wants to trade new for old.

Chipper Jones really likes college football.
He also signs his cards promptly!
My favorite player is better than your favorite player.

Hall of Fame - Randy Johnson
Scanner crisis is over so time for some Haul 'a Faym posts! Randy Johnson got the most votes this year, mainly because BBWAA members would check the box next to his name and remember their favorite dick joke and giggle. Hey, votes are votes, don't be judgmental. Here are three of my favorite Unit cards scrounged up from the archives.
Rookie Randy! Forget the Griffey or the Fuck Face, I want to rip a case of '89 Fleer in search of a Randy Johnson Marlboro ad variation. Kinda silly since I've got at least 2 complete sets of the stuff, but still.
1996 Upper Deck Hot Commodities. Die-cut AND holofoil AND special FX etched foil stuff AND it's the same color as a thermonuclear fireball. The '90s were a crazy time, folks.
2000 Fleer E-X E-xplosive. Fleer could also do some crazy stuff back in the day and this is the purdiest cards I have of Randy in this Snake days. It's also numbered out of 2499. BOOM!
Pedro next!

Hall of Fame - Craig Biggio
(wrote this stuff last year when I still cared about the Hall of Fame. I did posts for Maddux, Glavine and Thomas featuring three favorite cards for each from my collection and Craig was supposed to be in that group but oh well. I knew Biggio would get in this year so I forward dated it to tomorrow as an pre-announcement auto-post but got the date wrong so here it is now)
TWO FUCKIN VOTES
Biggio should have friggin been elected last year but as I write this he's still on the bubble with Hall voters becoming stupider and stupider by the second. For the record, Piazza, Raines, Bagwell, Bonds, Clemens and yes, Jack Morris should have been elected last year too and if any of them had we would not have this ridiculous voting backlog right now but that's how the mop flops. Seeing as how we're getting Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, John Smoltz and Gary Sheffield on next years ballot FOR STARTERS, I really hope Biggio isn't out there soaking up more votes for desperate candidates on a complete debacle of a ballot.
If you say the words "Craig Biggio" this is the card I will immediately think of without exception. 1991 Donruss is a horrible set, but this is a beautiful card.
Ultra Gold Medallion double play leaping card. With an ex-Astro on the card no less.
This card from an obscure late '90s set may not seem Mojoriffic at first glance but cards serial numbered to under 100 (98 in this case) from back in the day are not at all easy to find. Sure, it's maybe only a 10-15 dollar card but good luck finding it.
(I've picked out some cards for the rest of this year's surprisingly large Hall of Fame crop and will post them throughout the week with slightly less agitated commentary. I'm done with the Hall, but I'm rediscovering how cool wacky 90s inserts can be)
