THE TWELVE DAYS OF DRAFTSMAS - DAY SEVEN - YET ANOTHER ROGER SHOW

SO HERE'S THE DEAL MY LOVELIES: WORK IS A NIGHTMARE RIGHT NOW AND THERE ARE EIGHT CARDS IN THIS POST. I WILL DO MY BEST TO WRITE SOMETHING BUT THERE IS ABOUT A 91.2% CHANCE I WORK FROM THE MOMENT I WAKE UP UNTIL MIDNIGHT ON SATURDAY. IF THAT HAPPENS, THIS IS ALL YOU GET BUT I'LL TL;DR IT FOR YOU:

AS THE TITLE SEZ, THESE ARE PICKUPS FROM YET ANOTHER ROGER SHOW. THERE WERE PROBABLY ABOUT 15-18 CARDS THAT CAME HOME WITH ME BUT I TRIED TO SQUASH THEM ALL INTO A TOP TEN LIST AND WROTE FOUR DRAFTS AND THEN FLAKED OUT AND DIDN'T POST ANYTHING. THE BLOG MORE OR LESS COLLAPSED FROM EXHAUSTION IN 2013 SO IT'S TO BE EXPECTED. THESE ARE THE EIGHT WORST CARDS I BOUGHT SO YOU CAN IMAGINE THE QUALITY OF THE REST

January '15 Vintage Card Show Top 10: #10 - The Rejects

THESE THREE CARDS ARE 'REJECTS' MAINLY BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T FIT IN ANY OF THE OTHER POSTS. I WISH I COULD GET MY HANDS ON SOME REJECTS RIGHT NOW

HAVE BEEN HALF-ASSEDLY TRYING TO COMPLETE 1976 TOPPS FOR A WHILE NOW BUT IT TAKES A BACK SEAT TO 1953, 1956, 1960 AND 1972. I FOUND A NICELY WRECKED ROLLIE IN THE BARGAIN BIN, ROLLIE IS FOREVER A BREWER TO ME BUT I LOVE FINDING HIM AS AN A

BEFORE YOU SCROLL DOWN, WHAT ARE THE FIRST NAMES OF LOWN AND STALEY.

I DIDN'T REMEMBER EITHER. THE WHITE SOX HAD A NICE TEAM IN THE LATE 50S-EARLY 60S, WERE USUALLY SECOND OR THIRD IN THE LEAGUE AND THE MOMENT THE ALCS BECAME A THING THEY STARTED STINKING. REALLY A BUMMER. BEEN TRYING TO SPECIFICALLY COMPLETE THE FIRST SERIES OF 1960 TOPPS AND THIS WAS ONE MORE PIECE TO THAT GOAL

HALL OF FAME ROOKIE CARD! THAT NO ONE CARES ABOUT. I ALMOST BOUGHT THIS A DOZEN TIMES WHEN I WAS A KID AND PASSED AND THEN BASKETBALL CARDS GOT HOT AND THE PRICE WENT UP. VERY HAPPY TO SNAG THIS FOR THE BINDER. IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHO THE HALL OF FAMER IS, DO SOME HOMEWORK

WHOOP DE DAMN DO

A COUPLE 55S FOR A DOLLAR A POP. 1955 TOPPS IS MY SECOND LEAST FAVORITE OF THE BIG SIZE YEARS AND THE MAIN REASON IT'S MY SECOND LEAST FAVORITE INSTEAD OF MY LEAST IS IT'S ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND 52S FOR A BUCK A POP. I'VE FOUND 55S IN QUARTER BOXES

I HAVE ALMOST NOTHING TO SAY ABOUT THESE CARDS. I LOVE THAT KC HAT LOGO AND THE ELEPHANT IS DOPE

BYE BYE INDIANS, YOU'LL BE A SPIDER SOON. I AM KIND OF IMPRESSED ON JUST HOW LONG CLEVELAND USED THE CROWN LOGO AFTER THE 1948 WORLD SERIES WIN. I MEAN, MAYBE IT WAS JUST TOPPS BEING LAZY BUT THAT THING WAS ON CARDS IN 1960

WALLY WESTLAKE SURE LOOKS HAPPY THO

IF IT'S A VINTAGE SHOW I HAVE TO FIND AT LEAST ONE CARD FOR THE BRAVES TEAM BINDER. HERE IT IS

1963 TOPPS IS ONE OF THOSE 60S SETS WITH THE PAIN IN THE ASS HIGH SERIES CARDS. NOT NEARLY AS BAD AS SOME SETS LIKE 66 BUT THEY'RE STILL ANNOYING TO FIND. IF I SOMEHOW AVOID COMPLETE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE IN THE NEXT FEW YEARS AND AM ABLE TO START WORKING ON ANOTHER 60S SET IT'S GONNA BE 1964. NOT MANY HIGH NUMBERS AT ALL AND THEY'RE NOT SCARCE AS ALL GET OUT

GOTTA ADMIT I DON'T KNOW WHO NORM LARKER IS. LOOKS LIKE HE WAS AN ALL-STAR FOR THE DODGERS, GOT TAKEN BY HOUSTON IN THE EXPANSION DRAFT, FLIPPED TO THE BRAVES AND THEN SOLD TO SAN FRANCISCO. DUDE HAS A WORLD SERIES RING, CAN'T TAKE THAT AWAY FROM HIM

ROGER HAS AMLOST A FULL BOX FULL OF 1963 TOPPS MONSTER MIDGEES AND I LIKED TO SNAG A COUPLE HERE AND THERE AT SHOWS. THESE THINGS WERE LIKE 1980-81 BASKETBALL CARDS IN THREE CARD PANELS EXCEPT WITH B- MOVIE MONSTERS AND THEY'RE GREAT. THEY ALSO HAVE STOOPID SCARCE HIGH NUMBERS. ALWAYS BUY THE UPDATE SETS, KIDS

THE CARDS ALL HAVE TERRIBLE PUNS ON THE FRONT AND BACK. I CAN'T FIND THE LIST OF MOVIES THESE IMAGES ARE FROM AT SHORT NOTICE BUT I THINK THIS ONE IS FROM I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF. MICHAEL LANDON ROOKIE CARD?

THESE JOKES ARE MUCH BETTER IF YOU READ THEM IN JACKIE MASON'S VOICE. ALL THE IMAGES ARE FROM AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL PICTURES I THINK, SO IF YOU'RE A FAN OF ROGER CORMAN OR SAMUEL Z ARKOFF THIS IS THE SET FOR YOU

NO IDEA WHAT THE HECK THIS IS OR WHERE IT IS FROM BUT I ALSO LOVE TO LAUGH. ED WYNN MAYBE?

SO CLOSE TO A HIGH NUMBER, THOSE START AT #109. PROBABLY WOULDN'T HAVE GOTTEN IT FOR A BUCK THOUGH

I KNEW A MAN WITH A WOODEN LEG NAMED SMITH

DON'T KNOW WHY I'VE GOT MARY POPPINS ON THE BRAIN RIGHT NOW

I've been looking for a mid-grade Debusschere rookie card for awhile now. It'll happen eventually.
