WE'VE HIT THE SECOND GINORMOUS POST OF THE COMC BLACK FRIDAY BINGE. AS STATED BEFORE, I REALLY REALLY WANTED TO KNOCK OUT SOME SETS AND THE TWO BIG ONES I WAS CLOSEST TO COMPLETING WERE 1976 TOPPS BASEBALL AND 1979-80 BASKETBALL. THE 1976 CARDS WERE TOO SPENDY BUT 70S HOOPS ARE CHEAP. I ONLY NEEDED ELEVEN CARDS TO COMPLETE THE SET SO HERE WE GOOOOOOOOO
A WHOLE BIG PILE OF 1979-80 TOPPS BASKETBALL CARDS
#14 BERNARD KING
HALL OF FAMER WHO COULD HAVE BEEN EVEN BETTER IF NOT FOR A HORRIFIC LEG INJURY IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS BEST SEASON. HIS CARDS ARE ALL UNDERRATED BUT I AM GLAD I ALREADY HAVE HIS 78-79 ROOKIE
#32 GAIL GOODRICH
ANOTHER FORGOTTEN HALL OF FAMER. GAIL WON TWO TITLES WITH UCLA AND ANOTHER WITH THE LAKERS WHILE PUTTING UP 20 A NIGHT FOR MOST OF HIS CAREER
#44 REGGIE THEUS RC
REGGIE WAS A SCORING MACHINE AND TWO TIME ALL STAR FOR CHICAGO, ALTHOUGH I REMEMBER HIM FOR THAT ONE SEASON IN ATLANTA WHERE HE DIDN'T GEL WITH NIQUE AND MOSES. THIS ROOKIE CARD WAS THE ONE I WAS MOST CONCERNED I'D HAVE TO PAY A PREMIUM FOR, BUT I GOT THIS ONE FOR NINETY-FIVE CENTS PROBABLY THANKS TO ALL THAT SNOW ON THE IMAGE
#66 JACK SIKMA
ANOTHER HALL OF FAMER WHO WAS A BIG PART OF SEATTLE'S ONLY NBA CHAMPIONSHIP. JACK WOULD FIT IN WELL WITH TODAY'S BIG GUYS AT CENTER WHO LOVE TO CHUCK UP SOME THREES
#68 BILL ROBINZINE
#116 CHARLES JOHNSON
A SOLID GUARD WHO WON TITLES WITH GOLDEN STATE AND WASHINGTON
#120 RICK BARRY
HALL OF FAMER, ROOKIE OF THE YEAR, ABA LEGEND, TWELVE TIME ALL STAR, ALL STAR MVP, FINALS MVP, NBA CHAMPION, AND UNDERHAND FREE THROW SHOOTER. ALSO CO-STARRED WITH DR. J IN THE
GREATEST COMIC AD EVER
#126 LEON DOUGLAS
A BIG TOUGH CENTER WHO HAD A LONG CAREER PLAYING IN EUROPE AND LATER BECAME A COLLEGE HEAD COACH
#127 JOHN LUCAS
PLAYED POINT GUARD FOR 14 YEARS BEFORE GOING INTO COACHING. LUCAS IS CURRENTLY AN ASSISTANT FOR HOUSTON
#132 BOBBY JONES
THE FIFTH HALL OF FAMER OF THE BUNCH, JONES IS ONE OF THE BEST DEFENDERS EVER AND WON A CHAMPIONSHIP AND THE FIRST SIXTH MAN AWARD WITH THE 76ERS IN 1983
FIVE OUT OF TEN CARDS WERE HALL OF FAMERS AND I GOT THEM ALL FOR UNDER EIGHT BUCKS. WAIT, DIDN'T I SAY I NEEDED ELEVEN CARDS FOR THE SET? YEP, I GOOFED. THE LAST CARD I NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE THING WAS JAMAAL WILKES. I HAD HIS CARD OPEN IN A TAB AND FORGOT TO BUY IT. SO NO COMPLETE SET FOR ME. WHILE I CAN'T SHOW OFF THE SET I CAN SHOW OFF ALL THE COMPLETED PAGES, SIX IN ALL!
I DON'T HAVE THE SET, BUT I STILL HAVE THE CHASE. NOW I NEED TO FIGURE OUT WHAT VINTAGE HOOPS SET TO COMPLETE NEXT

That near-set looks fantastic. Go get that Wilkes!
A. Greg Ballard making a lot of cameos in this set.
B. Whenever I see that Dr. J ad and see Rick Barry, I immediately think of Han Solo.
