Super Incredible Serious Question

I just found out my wife had three packages of cards in her trunk for the past two weeks. Oops. I opened 'em up and found something extraordinarily interesting from reader Todd Querry. I found this:

This, is a 1982 Topps Sticker Album. It's well known that I love stickers and I love sticker albums and I love putting stickers in sticker albums. Now, along with the album there were...

Stickers. Forty-two different ones. Very Adamsy. Some of them are regular stickers, some are 1982 Topps inserts with the "Coming Soon" ad on the back. The condition of the stickers range from near mint to eeeccch. Stars like Rickey Henderson are in the pile along with journeymen like Juan Eichelberger. I also know for a fact I have a bunch more of these things hiding in my collection somewhere. So... here's my question:

STICK 'EM

or

DON'T STICK 'EM

I really need help with this one, folks... That 1980's kid inside me is yelling at me to stick those suckers in the album, but the rational part of my brain (such as it is) is insisting that this ain't 1982 and I need to grow up. There's a poll over on the side. Vote and decide the fate of these stickers.

If you vote yes, I'll dig up the rest of 'em, paste them all in and do my best to find a cheap box to rip to (hopefully) complete the set. I'll even give away the doubles and unopened packs once I'm done.

Vote no, and I'll find the rest, seperate the regular stickers from the pack inserts and store them all away with the rest of my Topps oddballs. Then I can focus on my '88 Panini album instead.

Help me out guys, this one is really gnawing at me...

(note: if Todd leaves a message saying to stick 'em, they are stuck. He gets the deciding vote in this)

Joe Collector says: NO don't stick 'em.

I would hang onto them. The ones with the Coming Soon back are harder to find since they were inserts in wax packs and not sold in sticker packs.
But then again, I have 2 Bazooka sticker books for each year. One with all the stickers and one without.
Do it! Do it!

Stick 'em. I have a bunch of these and 25 years later I still don't know what to do with them. I've been giving them away in trades. Others seem to like them more than I do. I should've stuck 'em. I used to have the book, too. Don't know what happened to it.

max says stick 'em. you aint putting the kids through college with 1982 topps stickers and in time, your kids can take the sticker album to college and look at it during their crappy work study job.

I voted to stick 'em. I wish I still had my '86 Topps sticker book. I really liked the oval shaped stickers for some reason.

STICK EM! It will help you catch passes in the NFL!

Stick all except Rickey, who you should trade to Brad (http://www.rickeyhendersoncollectibles.com/) for like a bazillion cards.

Stick 'em! Like Jacobmrley said, the difference of the value of unstuck will not finance your next vehicle, but might finance you next soda machine purchase...

Thanks for the recommendation JoshSamBob! I just got an e-mail fomr Todd letting me know that he was going to hook me up with some Rickey stickers. Gotta love bloggers looking out for each other!

Maybe the bigger question is, "Will 27 year old stickers actually stick?". I guess you already have that figured out with a paste option.

So with my final vote I can veto a "Don't Stick" result?. I guess I should wait until all the votes are cast before bringing the BIG vote.

I always thought the "Coming Soon" ones were incredibly common. Of course this is coming from a guy whose first boxes of cards were '82 Topps (I still know instictively that 36 x 30 cents a pack = $10.80).

Now if I only I could find my 1982 Fleer stamps albums.(The stamps almost made the trip to Georgia too).

Vote early, Vote Often!

Preachers preach, teachers teach, and STICKERS STICK. To make them do otherwise would keep them from fulfilling their destiny.
