I bought a rack pack so didn't even think about the gum. Got a Bob Cerv auto in the one pack I got so I don't need to buy anymore. Thus, won't miss the gum.
For me, it was more about the scent than the chew.
Opening a pack of Heritage with gum in it boosted the experience to be reminiscent of opening wax when I was a kid.
Will I pay extra for that experience? No.
Besides, I can pretty much buy ten years' worth of still unopened Heritage, or even straight-up junk wax vintage and get the same olfactory rush if I want.
Topps really seems to have made an effort to creatively package and price cards this year, especially with retail. Pulling the gum out of Heritage seems to be part of the strategy.

I always used the piece of gum to talk my wife into letting me buy a pack at WM. It was for the kids...
It may be sacrilege, but I'd rather have the extra card. :-)
(Btw, I still haven't seen any packs of Heritage yet, so this was news to me.)

I guess no one has time to read the blogs. I've seen this mentioned on blogs at least 4 or 5 times.
haha, I was so excited about the extra card that I didn't notice the lack of gum, either...
What's next, Allen & Ginter without the tobacco? Oh, wait...
