You know, back when we all thought there was a huge million record database of codes matched up to actual cards. You know, before we realized that Michael Eisner could wake up one cold Monday morning have a nice hot shower, put on his robe and fuzzy bunny slippers, pour a fresh cup 'o joe and then decide to throw the Late '80s Hall of Fame switch on the code transmogrifier.

I've got two codes in my back pocket.

I shall continue to sit upon them for the forseeable future.

Had anyone pulled a really crummy '87 Topps card? All I'm seeing are Ozzies and Boggses and Schmidts and Bretts. I guess Topps knew that no one would pay anything to ship a '87 Dave Van Ohlen and just went with the stars on this one.

YES! A card from the '60s! And a Brave too! That I already have! There's no problem here... I'll see if I can trade it for that '68 Alou I need. Sure, I'll have to pay three bucks to have it shipped, but it's a major award!

Yo Momma Code Cards Redeemed Live

I'm home from work, I've had a chance to wind down, I've gotten dinner and www.toppscards.com seems to be running a tiny bit faster now. It's time to redeem some codes. I'm going to redeem six of 'em here live, one of each player I've gotten so far. I have to say that today actually went pretty well considering. Ok, they were late and once they got it online we were all in such a code redeeming frenzy that we stress tested the living crap out of those servers, but hey, it's still up and the cards being redeemed are actually kind of good! I must admit my pessimistic ass is pleasantly surprised. Now let's redeem some codes...

Topps Million Card Giveaway Code Tracker

Note: It's the 15th now and there's still nowhere to enter codes. I can't even create a login. I'm going to bed.

The grand day is almost upon us, although I think it is a very ominous sign that the countdown is gone. I sure hope I'm able to redeem all these code cards on the 15th, otherwise I'll probably be reduced to signing up for ToppsTown out of desperation. In this post I shall track all my code cards with predicted and actual results. I'm pretty much expecting to get almost exclusively junk wax era cards, but who knows? One of those junkers might fill a hole in a set. At any rate, it will be fun to pull and redeem all these things in 2010. I also like the redemption cards themselves, it's a nice little insert set featuring some cool old cards! As I redeem the codes, I'll post my results so everyone can laugh at how crummy my cards are.
