BIRTHDAY BOOLSHEET BLASTER: PART 8 - ANGELS

I SKIPPED THIS POST TOO. I'M A MESS RIGHT NOW

EIGHTY-SEVEN ANGELS IN THIS BOX O' CRAP. CAN YOU BELIEVE THE ANGELS WON A WORLD SERIES DECADES AGO? HOW'D THAT EVEN HAPPEN?

THE TOPPS TRADED ANGELS ARE HEADLINED BY GREG MINTON COMPLETELY SLATHERED IN AIRBRUSH PAINT. THIS CARD HAS SLOWLY BECOME AS INFAMOUS AS HIS 1978 ARTWORK CARD. NOTICE THE GIANTS' TRON SEATS IN THE BACKGROUND. ALSO IN THE BOX IS MARK MCLEMORE WHO PLAYED EVERYWHERE FOR A MILLION YEARS AND DEWAYNE BUICE WHO MADE A MINT OFF OF UPPER DECK
1987 TOPPS TRADED COUNT: 14/132

WE'VE GOT SEVENTEEN MORE CARDS FOR THE 2002 SECOND SET. HIGHLIGHTS THIS TIME ARE TIM SALMON, GARRET ANDERSON, TROY PERCIVAL AND MANAGER MIKE SCIOSCIA

2002 TOPPS COUNT: 80/718

A DIFFERENT TRADED SET! I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY TOPPS WENT WITH THIS ODD MIX OF COLORS ON THEIR TRADED SET BUT YOU SURE CAN'T MISTAKE THEM FOR THE BASE SET

EVERY TIME I SEE THIS CARD I THINK IT'S A SCREENSHOT FROM THE FILM THE NAKED GUN. I CAN ENVISION FRANK DREBIN PULLING AN AXLE GRINDER OUT MIKE WITT'S POCKET AT ANY MOMENT

A 1981 FLEER JOE RUDI CARD WITH THE PUPPY DOG EYES. WEIRDLY ENOUGH I HAVE PULLED THIS CARD OUT OF A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GRAB BAG EARLIER THIS YEAR. I AM NOW DOWN TO NEEDING ONLY ONE CARD TO COMPLETE THIS SET AND IT'S A CARD I PROBABLY ALREADY HAVE HIDING SOMEWHERE. NOW I JUST NEED ANOTHER 472 CARDS TO COMPLETE THE SET WITH ALL THE VARIATIONS

HELL YEAH 1995 DONRUSS. I DON'T NEED THIS GARY DISARCINA CARD BUT 1995 DONRUSS KICKS ASS

DAVE WINFIELD IS TOO GOOD TO BE IN GARBAGE BOXES AND THIS CARD IS LEGIT GREAT. THE BACK SHOWS DAVE INTERVIEWING DARRYL STRAWBERRY HOW COOL IS THAT

KEN HILL IS THE ANGELS' REPRESENTATIVE PACIFIC RED FOIL PARALLEL CARD

I'M NOT SURE WHY FLEER GAVE UP ON THE MATTE CARD STOCK IN 1999. THE DESIGN LOOKS LIKE THEY PLANNED TO USE THAT STOCK FOR A THIRD YEAR BUT GOT COLD FEET. THIS JARROD WASHBURN CARD IS ONE OF THE VERY FEW CARDS I'VE FOUND SO FAR THAT I ACTUALLY NEED ON MY WANTLIST

AND FINALLY WE GET TO THE JUNK. I'M PRETTY SURE THERE ARE MORE 1992 UPPER DECK CARDS IN THIS BOX THAN EVEN 2002 TOPPS BUT I STILL NEED EXACTLY ZERO OF THESE CARDS. OUR SECOND CHANCE GEMS THIS TIME ARE A NICE LOOKING 1989 WALLY JOYNER CARD AND A CARD OF GREG MINTON WHERE HE'S NOT SLATHERED IN PAINT

BACK TO THE 50 CENT CARDS NEXT TIME, WE'VE GOT SOME MORE DOOZIES TO SHOW OFF

Greg Minton is definitely the king of the airbrushed!
