January Vintage Show Top 20 - #4 Awwww, come ON.

You all know I'm rather fond of the 1972 Topps set. This might be the best card in the whole shebang.

I don't need to write nothin' about this card. A picture says a thousand words. This one's at least 2500. I don't know where the heck the ump that made that call is right now, but I'm booing him. Booooo! How can you make a call like that?! Wherever Clemente thought that pitch was, that's where it was. You suck, ump.

The card itself looks like it was run over by an office chair, but who the hell cares. It's Clemente with one of the best card photos of all time. The back of this card makes me wonder about the other obsessed team/player collectors out there. Do collectors of Tom Seaver and Tony Oliva fell their collection is incomplete without the full color puzzles of their players from the '72 High series? If so I feel for 'em. '72 high numbers are a pain in the ass, I don't even wanna think about finding all those puzzle cards.

June Vintage Show Top Ten #2

Two to go in the top 10 vintage countdown. This one is pretty self-explanatory.

1972 Topps # 309 Roberto Clemente

Just a player tossing a ball around at the ballpark.

There were a few beat up superstar vintage cards I thought about getting. Once was a 1960 Topps Ernie Banks that was kind of painful to put back. I couldn't pass up on Clemente in the '72 set though. If this one is #2, can ya imagine what the #1 card could be?

A better League Leader card

I posted this card show pickup out of the bargain bin a while back:

I then stated that I actually found a better league leader card in that same bin. There were doubts about the veracity of my claim. I'm not going to argue about it, I'm just going to show you.

This might be the best hypothetical outfield ever, and if Hank has to play left field then I'm ok with that.

If you can think of a better combo card (I actually have one in mind, but I digress) then show me. It will take a lot to beat this.
