Virtual Card Show - Sports Memories Atlanta Show - Part 2

Today we continue from where we left off in Part One of the virtual Sports Memories show that was in town a couple of weeks ago. We had just finished scrounging some cheap cards out of the bargain box and drooling over the Kick-ass case and now we're moving on to the oddball sections.

This table had a large assortment of oddball cards out in the open where you could look 'em over. There's a whole bunch of graded vintage up at the top including a 1953 Smilin' Sid Gordon. There's also a bunch of Exhibit postcards, some signed checks, Team issue cards, a few Bazookas, a really nifty St. Louis Browns decal and a pile of 1936 Goudey Widepens. I picked up something off this table that I'll show off soon.

More oddball cards, this time under glass. Some of the stuff in this case: College football decals, Kahn's Meat cards, 1963 Topps  Decals, some team logo decals I don't recognize, 1960 Leaf, 1952 Wheaties' Post football cards, 1933 Indian Gum cards (Goudey), foil football decals, 1955 Topps Doubleheaders, 1961 Topps Rub-offs, 1950 Bowman basketball.

Roger had more Turkey Red cards than I had ever seen assembled all in one place before. Here's five in a case.

This one of Howie Camnitz was in the same case, just standing up.

This one surprised me. I didn't realize Topps actually got their 2007 Turkey Red set design from somewhere. This boxer is from the 1911 T-3 Turkey Red set, there are 50 baseball players in the set as well. You'll see a lot of this design if you rip enough 2010 Topps as they've brought backthat design as an insert.

Here's a bunch of full sized Wheaties box-back cards from 1935. These look pretty sweet in person.

Let's finish up the oddball tour with a pic of the program table. There were stacks of old programs available, but I was pressed for time and didn't get to root around in them. I did find a couple of programs some folks that read regularly would like.

This White Sox official score card is sure to be enjoyed by a certain cool as hell midwestern blogger...

And this 1966 Dodgers yearbook featuring Walkter Alston will likely be coveted by about a half dozen or so Dodger bloggers I know.

That's it for today, tomorrow I'll show off the meat of the show, the vintage cases.

Those Wheaties boxes are great. This guy is phenomenal.

I don't covet the '66 Alston Dodgers yearbook, because I have it already!

This guy is in St Charles, MO next month. That is a 3.5 hour drive for me. Hmmm....

If only he would come AFTER I get my tax return back...

Great googly moogly, that's an awesome sight! Everything in the pictures, not just the midwestern team's score card. That alone is pretty cool.

It would be a lot of fun just to look at the oddball vintage stuff for an hour or so. Great stuff.
