Not an Albuquerque faithful but you hit it right with the Crash Davis mention. Another good season in the minors and he'll be in the top 100 for career minor league home runs. He's had some hyperinflated numbers the last few years. At best he's a reserve 1B/OF. More likely he's back at AAA when the season starts.
AAA ball is a weird world. I've seen the Isotopes play, but I don't remember anything special about thoses games that they played here in Portland.
Hopefully it works out for him. I know how hard it is to watch some guys play their best ball while in AAA. Good god how long did it take Edgar Gonzalez to get to the bigs?
Jones had an incredible 2009 season with the Isotopes. Hate to not see him return in 2010, but also glad that he won't be playing for any other PCL team.
Mitch is a VERY nice guy, and I'm sure a positive influence in any clubhouse.
Pretty much every article I've seen on this guy has a Crash Davis reference, so why not jump on the bandwagon. Nice depth pickup that could end up being a nice surprise. Now if we could just get past the Derek Lowe drama...

Man, my heart goes out to the AAAA guys, it really does. You wonder how many just needed a shot (see PeƱam Carlos)?
