1954 Johnstons Cookies Billy Bruton

I'm still suffering from a baseball hangover and probably am not going to post anything today. In the meantime enjoy this pristine copy of a 1954 Johnston's Cookies card. I think this was three bucks from Sports Memories when they were in town last year.

That Sports Memories was in St Louis earlier and I didn't find anything awesome like that on the cheap. I did buy a Ted Williams Exibit card from him but it wasn't at a bargin price.

Love that card. Clearly, it was not designed to live on for 56 years, but rather to help sell a package of cookies in Milwaukee over maybe a couple of months.

I'm a big fan of national and regional truly vintage premium sets like that. Red Heart, Red Man, even 1958 SF Call-Bulletin; good stuff.
