arrrggghhh

Congratulations to U.S. Steel upon winning their 27th championship.

To commemorate this event, here is a poem by Robert S. Wieder originally published in the January, 1999 issue of Playboy.

If this terse rhyme, about our pastime
Seems a little cranky,
It's possibly because the writer
Hates the F&$%ing Yankees.
Yankees fans, whoop it up! Jeter's got one for the thumb. Everyone else, remember Linus Van Pelt's motto...

JUST WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR!!!

All they want is attention. If you ignore them, they'll go away.

I've been trying that for years.
They are still here.

You're jealous whining does a disservice to your otherwise excellent blog. Go Yanks!

Enjoy your champeenship and allow me to grieve in my own way. Don't get me all ornery and force me to discuss Chicago vs. New York pizza.

Also: any more of these damn anonymous Russian spam posts and I'm going to have to start cracking down on the comments as much as I hate to do so. don't be surprised if a captcha pops up soon.

At the end of the day, they made the key plays and kept their head and that had nothing to do with money. The Johnny Damon double steal was the turning point. If you're going to shift like that, how can you not cover 3rd?
