An entire subdivision of cards
Chris Jaffe of The Hardball Times wrote an excellent article on the glory days of card collecting in the early '80s. I'm sure many of us have similar memories of trashing the first cards you had by playing with them and then getting caught up in keeping everything 'minty fresh'. Even if you don't have time to read the article, make sure you click on that link just so you can see the insane house of baseball cards that ate up an entire living room. Late '80s overproduction envisioned as suburban sprawl perhaps? It looks like a few of the country clubs near me at any rate.
