Ever have back spasms?

You don't wanna have 'em.

Posting will be infrequent until I can move.

Update: The little yellow pills, Aleve Gelcaps, hot pad and being completely immobile for 2 days has got me semi-functional again. Posting will resume tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for the comments.

Just suck it up

Yeah, there's no such thing as sucking it up with back spasms. I get them off and on, and have for years now, god do they suck.

My recommendations are to go to the doctor and get yourself some muscle relaxers, Robaxin or Flexeril are the two most common. The first few times you take them they will knock you out, but after that you'll be fine.

Good luck, I know your pain. Unfortunately all you can really do is sit flat on your back and not move.

I have only had them once and I never want to go through that again. I was playing third base in a softball game when they hit and dropped me to my knees. A couple more times they dropped me and I had to come out of the game.

Later that evening I went to the kitchen to get something to drink and they hit me again. I couldn't even speak, my wife walks in and says that does it you are going to the hospital. I couldn't fight her off. By the time we got to the hospital they were gone.

They haven't been back since and I hope the never do. Hopfefully, yours will go away and not come back too.

Yikes! Been there myself and cross my fingers daily that it never happens again. I have to agree with William and his assessment of get thyself to a doctor and gracefully accept the Flexeril or other relazer of his/her choice. Between that tiny yellow pill and a hot pad, I managed to move again. Normally I avoid meds, but there are times...
Good luck, take care of yourself, and get well soon! Your wit will be missed in the meantime.

Been in your situation about six times. Initial problems do to muscle strain, but often back problems surface when under stress over a period of time, then lifting a pencil can do you in. Time usually solves the problem and exercize can help prevent the problems for reoccurring. People who haven't been though it don't understand how much pain you're in. Hope you're better soon.
