1986 Donruss Video Rip

I got a little bit rambunctious on this pack rip, but as you will see there was wooo-worthy Epicness inside.

In a sad note, the card that got the big reaction out of me has gone missing. You see, a few cards into the opening I accidentally dropped a couple of the cards on the floor so I gave up and just started chucking them over my shoulder. The card in question is now AWOL and presumed to be hiding on top of a cabinet or perhaps behind an appliance. I sent a pile of '85 Fleer doubles out as a search party but have heard no report back.

Here's three of the better cards from the pack for you guys who don't click on strange videos.

I've got another rip in the can, one ready for editing, and three projects lined up in pre production so expect more where this came from soon.

BONUS DRINKING GAME!!!

I say "Finally" take a drink.

I call '86 Donruss "Garbage" take two drinks.

I do something completely inane and embarassing that makes you giggle like an idiot, chug.

That is why I am watching.

I wish Jose Canseco was never in this set, because far too many people have affection for a set that in my mind was the worst-designed set of the entire decade of the 1980s.

I'm glad I couldn't find any '86 Donruss anywhere. I would have been horrified by what I saw.

I remember doing card shows with my dad in the late 80's, and a guy at the Flea Market had a 1961 Topps Roger Maris, and a 1986 Donruss Canseco for $60 each. I wanted the Canseco, because at the time it was still going for $100+, but he talked me into buying the Maris...Thank God! I bought the entire 1986 Donruss set on Ebay last year for $19 including shipping. Listen to your parents kids.

Wow, that pack was awful. Really terrible. Hard to think of how it could have been worse.

Jeez.

It could easily have been worse. At least it had a HOFer (Perez), a would-be HOFer (Rose) and an all-star and batting champ (McGee.)

I guess you're right. I stand corrected.

Actually, I'm sitting. I sit corrected.

Can I drink water?

I started collecting in 1986. Topps was 35 cents a pack as was Fleer (Fleer packs disappeared quickly, however) but Donruss was 60 cents. 60 cents! I was 10 years old, so 60 cents was like two candy bars. I did manage to buy a couple of packs, and I think the first one had Canseco in it. I had no idea who he was, and the stupid barber (yes, a barber) I bought it from scammed me out of it by offering me a buck.

And Willie McGee's ugliness transcends his Diamond Kings depiction.

You can drink water if you like, just be careful you don't get water intoxication.
