2009 Allen & Ginter Box Break: Pack 11

Halfway home! Here's the plan for the rest of the week: Get the first half of the box in my binder. Go over the posts and figure out the Gint-a-Cuffs scoring. Post all that mess to get caught up. Then... A SURPRISE. But for now, here's hit #2 from the box.

230 Torii Hunter
246 General Custer
171 Brett Anderson
312 AJ Burnett SP +5 points
AGR-JB Jay Bruce jersey +8 points x 5 Favorite Player = 40 points
292 Eric Chavez A&G Mini +2 points
NP43 Jose Lopez NP

BRUUUUUUUCE. Relic + favorite player bonus = ??? I'll figure it out soon enough. That's two of three hits in the box though. Rootin' for a real kickass one for #3. Torii looks apprehensive on his card and that makes me sad. I guess lightning just doesn't strike twice. The General Custer card if pretty cool although the permanent association I have for him is a dicey Robin Williams joke about former Georgia Governor Lester Maddox. The rest of the pack is uninteresting except for the fact that I just realized that the first half of the box has a run of National Pride cards from number 43 to 52. I have a feeling that National Pride is not going to be an easy set to build by ripping packs.

And, cause I gotta show 'em:

Chavez A&G mini that I hope gets me more points than I lose...

And this rather meh SP. An SP's an SP, I suppose.

I'd like to start calling him "Jaybert the Bruce". Who's with me?

Yeah, I've noticed the National Pride set may be tricky to complete. At least if my 2 boxes is any indication.

Oh, and ... Jaybert!

your right about the run of cards on national prides, mine are runs on the fringes, yours more towards the middle...I smell an excellent trade opportunity?

My two hobby boxes had perfect runs on the National Pride set...unfortunately they both overlapped by about 15 cards so I've got a bunch of extras already...and that's before I open the two boxes of A&G sitting right next to me!
