The Mailman Came Today Too

An embarrassment of riches today as three packages arrived along with my UPS parcel:

First up is my first completed trade of the year. When I really started looking at this year's Stadium Club and became appalled at the flustercluck the short prints turned out to be, I got a trade offer from reader PAB. We've managed to swap our cards and I've finally got something on my Completed Trade page. Here's three of my favorites from the pile:

How's this for a cool photo of Roberto Clemente? Pew pew pew! Clemente got ya!

Smoltzie's standin' tall in one of Topps' overused trademark low-angle shots. Ok, so we've seen this shot on about 100 Topps cards this year, but it still looks cool.

Here's the short-printed variation photo of Gregor Blanco. I may very well have every possible Blanco card other than the Printer's Proof now. I'll have to check. Thanks for the trade and good luck on that set!

Up next, Heartbreaking Cards of Staggering Genius sent me a blaster of Masterpieces Football!!! Let's open it up!

HAH? A rat ated the Masterpieces!

Oh wait, these are the cards Matt sent me for encouraging him during his 50 posts in 36 hours marathon! He's already scanned the cards, so I don't have to! I think I'll save the JOGO cards to open during the Super Bowl. Here's my favorite out of the bunch:

This blue Chrome Retro Refractor Thingy of Lance Berkman is mesmerising me. It's like looking into a cobalt blue glass vase. A Vase that kind of looks like Lance Berkman. Someone out there might buy a vase like that, you never know. Thanks Matt! I've got something coming your way one of these months.

Finally, we have three packages from out of nowhere from Madding. I've got a pile of Cardinals and Blazers set aside for him that are collecting dust like Matt's. One of these days, I swear I'll send 'em! I'm going to open these up one at a time and post them individually. Which one do you want to see first? Ran Gant in the plastic case, Sid Bream in the team bag or Zane Smith in the zipper bag? Let me know in the comments and I'll open them up this week. Thanks Madding!

Ron Gant - saw him coaching youth baseball this past summer. His son plays for Wills Park in Alpharetta. They were at a tournament at Hobgood Park, not far from dayf. That dude (Gant) is still ripped.
